  • The archaeological adventure continues! Southern Transylvania Projects enters its 5th season exploring the evolution of a Chalcolithic community, both in space and time.
The excavation (2002-2004) of the Mosna site (Medias, Transylvania, Romania) has revealed several housing structures, a plethora of spectacular artefacts (painted and incised ceramics, stone and bone tools, a gold pendant - unique!). Surveys and test trenches have shown several other sites of the same community in the next valley (Valea Viilor) which indicates the semi nomadic aspect of this culture. It is this nomadic character that we intend to explore during the 2005 season, excavating these newly identified sites. Would you be so kind as to inform your students of this archaeological field opportunity and direct them to check out the excavation web page: http://www.wdwebdesign.com/medias/default.htm
