    • Full details can be found on the Conference web site http://www.pacificarchaeology.org/conference. Information on registration and submission of papers can be found on the site. Please note the deadline for submission of papers is the end of February. As interest is building rapidly I would suggest you get your registration and paper submission in soon. A number of special sessions have been proposed. These include:
      • Christophe Sand "Styles and Provinces: discussions around Lapita motifs and regional divergences over time"
      • Tarisi Vunidilo "Communities and their response to Lapita Research or Communities and Exhibiting Lapita Research in Museums"
      • Stuart Bedford "Vanuatu Lapita and Descendents"
  • Archaeological Invisibility and Forgotten Knowledge Conference
    5 - 8 Sept 2007, University of Lodz, Poland
    • Hunter-gatherer ethnoarchaeology represents an indispensable tool for exploring the invisible web of prehistoric reality that formed the foundation of life and for breaking down archaeological theoretical barriers to gain an insight into the logic and dynamics of societies very different from our own. The conference will focus on recent and historical observations from small-scale cultures similar to those who created the archaeological record. Archaeology is the material embodiment of people's past behaviour; the insights gained from ethnoarchaeology can be complimented by corresponding insights from cognitive archaeology to contribute to an understanding of the material remains of past societies.
